This is a story about a victimized girl called Malli (18 yrs), who wishes to be a girl even in her next birth despite all the odds women face in her own society. She is a very straight forward girl who is fearless as well as playful.

The story revolves around the time when female infanticide is rampant in Indian society. Malli, our protagonist, is not only an affectionate daughter but also a sweet & caring elder sister of her brothers & sisters.

Rajanna, Malli’s father, even though handicapped, is a man with high self esteem, who wants to take good care of his children. He wishes to give Malli a good life but unfortunately circumstances force him to get Malli married during her childhood.

Now Malli has come of age and has to be sent to her husband’s house, but Rajanna’s monetary condition is a big hurdle. Due to fate’s unfortunate twists & turns, Malli , is sold to a rich Zamindar family of Neelakantha Rao Bahadur, without her knowledge. Circumstances make her believe that this is her in-law’s house and Srikanth is the man she was married to during her childhood. This belief prevails for some period until one fine day she gets to know the truth that she was sold by her parents to this house. Her parents beg for forgiveness; she decides to stay in Neelakantha Rao’s house because she feels that is her duty.

And that’s not all,Balli who runs a human trafficking racket & targets poverty ridden people also lays his greedy eyes on Malli.
