Pilgrims pledging to endure hardship to please the gods so as to ensure the fulfillment of their wish is an age old practice in our country.
Heart wrenching stories of people going through personal turmoil, embarking on pilgrimage to shun all sorrows of their life is abundant in this country. One such story of hardship endured by a fifteen year old girl, Devi along with her ailing, blind mother, during their journey of nine holy shrines is presented here. The uniqueness of this story lies in the fact that Devi is blessed with a divine object “Conch”(Shankham), which bestows its beholder with nine wishes.
