Essel Group Salutes Karnataka’s Police Force

Bangalore, 25^th May 2007 :
The Essel group and Zee Network have come together and unveiled an ambitious programme to award individuals and institutions that have made significant contribution in public or private service. Every month awards are given to the specific category in recognition of their performance and achievements. This month the ceremony is to salute Karnataka’s Police force for their immense contribution to the society. A programme was hosted by the Essel Group on May 25, in Bangalore to recognize the abilities of the Karnataka’s police force, including gallantry, achievement, honesty and compassion for fellow human beings.

The guests of the event were Mr H.T.Sangliana – Member of Parliament, Justice M.P Chinnappa - Chairman of the Jury-Essel Karnataka’s Best Social Service Award, Justice K Jaganatha Shetty, Ms Jija S. Harisingh – DGP, Fire Services, Justice Rangavittalachar and Thriller Manju – Cine artiste. They also spoke about the contribution and services of the Police department towards betterment of the society.

The evening also witnessed cultural programmes by Rashmi Hegde Gopi from the Shankara Troupe and folk performances to represent the rich culture of Karnataka.

"The Essel Group has begun this programme under different categories every month in Karnataka inorder to recognise the unsung heroes and thereby inspire the youth to scale new heights", said Dr.M.Gautham Machaiah, Vice President, Corporate and Public Affairs, Essel Group and Zee Network.
