Voting for Essel Karnatakas Best Minister Award has taken an interesting turn by breaking record in receiving the maximum number of votes in an any event. Voting ended on midnight July 15th 2006 and the Essel group has received 4,09,738 votes. These kind of voting is seen only in a reality show or in a musical concert.
Gautham Machaiah Vice President Essel group and Zee Network said that The viewers and people of Karnataka have chosen their Karnatakas best minister, we have received 2,79,264 SMS votes and 1,30,474 BSNL calls. I am happy that this time the rural mass has come forward and has voted for their favorite minister. We will know the winner only on July 19, 2007.
Jury headed by B.S.Srinivasa Rao had selected Mr Basavaraj S. Horatti (Minister for Primary and Secondary Education), Mr N. Cheluvarayaswamy (Minister for Transport), Mr K.S. Eshwarappa (Minister for Water Resources), Mr Jagadish Shettar (Minister for Revenue), Mr Katta Subramanya Naidu (Minister for Major and Minor Industries), and Mr M.P. Prakash (Minister for Home) for the final round of this award.
