Zee launches “ZEE KANNADA” - Kannadigara Kanmani

Bangalore, 10^th May 2006: Yet again, Zee proves its mettle by launching the first ever channel solely based on viewers choice. Zee Group, in continuance of its efforts to be the most watched channel in south India, launched the much anticipated “Zee Kannada”- Kannadigara Kanmani on Thursday. It’s a 24-hour Kannada television channel catering to the massive Kannada speaking populace. It is an initiative of “Zee South” .The Launch was kept a low key affair in veneration to the demise of popular Kannada matinee idol, Dr.Rajkumar.

The new channel is slated to capture the needs, moods, sentiments and aspirations of Kannadigas. Zee Kannada is the second south Indian language channel that Zee is launching after Zee Telugu, which was launched in May 2005. The Channel has been carefully ideated and conceived to match the taste and preferences of Kannadigas.

The key highlight of the channel is its programming and production quality. Zee has been engaged with lot of outdoor advertising and direct contact programs with viewers across Karnataka, thus reinforcing the fact of knowing its viewers inside out. The Channel promises to introduce a lot of new and well known faces like Anu Prabhakar, Malavika, Geetha..B.U, Ramkrishna etc., in its programs.
