GUNAGAANA ...a tribute to our music legends
Synopsis: Zee Kannada’s programme ‘Gunagaana’, one of south India’s most unique and revered TV programmes has announced the launch of an all new series that pays tribute to the Golden musical hits of the evergreen hit Kannada movies.
The first season of ‘Gunagaana’ that just ended, gained immense popularity amongst the viewers and the critics. This very unique concept of paying tribute to eight of the musical legends – ‘Gandharva Taareyaru’ of Kannada Film industry brought in a lot of awe and following for the programme.
Owing to the success of Gunagaana and known for its innovations, Zee Kannada, has put together an all new show that pays tribute to the evergreen music behind the movies that created a phenomenon during its time.
Gunagaana 2 will now have professional singers like Manjula Gururaj, B R Chaya, Gurukiran, Hemanth, L N Shastry, Ramesh Chandra, Archana Udupa, M D Pallavi, Nanditha, Sangeetha Katti, Chaitra, Gangotri Rangaswamy and many others who will recreate and relive the songs of hit movies like Kasturi Nivasa, Nagara Haavu, Edakalu Guddada Mele, Shubhamangala, Geeta, Malaya Maaruta, Ranganayaki, Pallavi Anupallavi, Bandhana, Premaloka, Nanjundi Kalyani, Mysooru Mallige, Janumada Jodi, Appu, Excuse Me, Aptamitra, Nenapirali, Jogi, Amritadhare to Mungaaru Male and Gaalipata and many more. There will also be dance performers to spice up the show and recreate the aura and ambience of the movie.
Each day is dedicated to songs of one of the all time hit movies. 40 such movies will be featured over a period of 8 weeks. Every episode takes the viewers through the history of Kannada films and film music. The show not only features the hit songs but will also have the some of the actual crew of the movie to share their fond memories, experiences and provide interesting tit-bits/ insights about the lyrics, composition, choreography and music direction.
